MsM Refresher Course in Ho Chi Minh City - Supported by Nuffic Neso Vietnam
In October 2011, MsM Alumni chapter in Vietnam organized a Refresher Course for all alumni of MsM living and working in the South East Asia. The course was held in Ho Chi Minh City with topic: CSR – living up to international level standards
CSR before the course of MSM, all of us have many definition of CSR in different ways and all of members of refresh course have realized and understand the current living standards in the world. Depending on each situation, each of us will apply in different ways and directions after finishing the course.

Participants of the course came from Indonesia, Phillipines, Thailand and Vietnam joined in the course developed by MSM together with MSM Alumni Chapter Vietnam. All of the members of the course have learned about CSR principles and all of implementation in many industry in Vietnam.
All of participants were divided into 4 main stakeholders operating CSR in our society including Business Group, NGO Group, Education Group, Government Group. The course was a valuable chance for all of members coming from different countries to meet up and share knowledge and information about CSR.
At the beginning of the course, CSR was defined in many specific ways with many case studies and Video clips in the first week. The class had a chance to meet and visit many companies in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam to experiment what they have done for CSR activities at their places. All of participants were admired what Caravelle Hotel, Rex Hotel and Continental Saigon Hotel implemented in their CSR strategy. The next event for the hotel activies would be with VCCI Vietnam and it was really a vary good film of CSR in Vietnam. Moreover, all of group had field visit to Saigon III Garment Group and there are many CSR operational acitivies implemented which should be learned by them.
Then, in the evening of 28th October, Nuffic Neso Vietnam warmly welcomed all of us to a wonderful Alumni Meeting 2011. The most interesting moment of this meeting is the Launch of Alumni Directory 2nd edition within more than 5 alumni of our course inside the booklet. Have a look at the pictures, click here

The first week of the course closed by a very interesting tour to Mekong Delta Vietnam, all of participants had chance to taste fresh coconut water and see what Vietnamese farmers do for their sustainability in Ben Tre Province – a 2,5 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City and a famous coconut region in Vietnam.

The next week would be more strategical ways for all of participants in the course. All of participants realized what CSR should apply in Business Value Chain. In the week, participants had more knowledge and experiences with Fresh Studio which is an international consulting, research and development and trade services company. At the end of the course, all of participants had chance to welcome representative of UNDP who share with all of us more information about MDGs in Vietnam.
All of valuable knowledge and information had been gathered by all of participants by their own ways and there were many Back Home Action Plan shared at the end of the course. Each of members had their difficulties and obstables to implement a new topic in their organization, however, all of them would like to buid awareness to their organization about CSR was the common features in all BHAP.
